Office 365 Install Guide

Installing Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) is pretty straightforward. Here’s how to do it depending on your device:


On Windows or Mac

1. Get a subscription

  • Go to the official Microsoft 365 website
  • Sign in with your Microsoft account
  • Buy a plan (or use one provided by your school/work)

2. Download the installer

  • After signing in, go to “Services & Subscriptions”
  • Click Install Office
  • This downloads the setup file

3. Run the installer

  • Open the downloaded file:
    • Windows: .exe
    • Mac: .pkg
  • Follow the on-screen instructions

4. Sign in & activate

  • Open any app like Word or Excel
  • Sign in with your Microsoft account
  • Office activates automatically

On Android or iPhone

1. Open app store

  • Go to:
    • Google Play Store (Android)
    • App Store (iPhone)

2. Search for apps

Install individual apps like:

  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft PowerPoint

(or install the combined Microsoft 365 app)

3. Sign in

  • Open the app
  • Log in with your Microsoft account

Important tips

  • You must have a valid subscription to use full features
  • Avoid downloading from unofficial websites (risk of malware)
  • Internet is required for installation and activation
